Let’s talk about something that can radically transform your life—The Wheel of Life.
Here’s the deal: life isn’t about juggling everything perfectly all the time. It’s about figuring out where you are now, where you want to be, and what’s standing between you and your next-level self. That’s exactly what we’re going to dive into with the Wheel of Life exercise.
This tool, commonly used in coaching and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), helps you assess different areas of your life, giving you a clear view of where you might be thriving and where you might need a little TLC. Ready to roll? Let’s do this!
Step 1: Draw Your Wheel of Life

Grab a pen and some paper (or print the file attached, whichever suits your fancy). Draw a big ol’ circle and divide it into slices, like a pie. Think of each slice as a different area of your life—career, finances, health, relationships, personal growth, fun and recreation, environment, and spirituality. Feel free to tweak these categories to fit your own priorities.
Step 2: Rate Yourself (No Judgment Zone!)
Now, here’s where the magic starts. Rate your satisfaction in each area of your life from 1 to 10. Don’t overthink it—just go with your gut. A 1 means things need some serious love, while a 10 means you’re absolutely crushing it. Be real with yourself. After all, the truth sets you free, right? Connect your numbers to form your “wheel.”
Step 3: Reflect on Your Wheel
Look at your wheel. Does it look balanced? Or is it wobbly in some areas? Now, imagine your wheel as a tyre on your car—how smoothly would your car drive? Yep, if one area is out of whack, the ride can get bumpy. But don’t stress! You’ve just identified the areas that need your attention, and that’s the first step toward creating positive change.
Step 4: Set Your Goals
Got those areas that need a boost? Perfect. Now it’s time to set some juicy, meaningful goals that’ll move you forward. Remember, these goals should align with your values and what you really want. Start with just one or two goals per area to avoid overwhelm. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress.
Step 5: Create an Action Plan
It’s not enough to just dream about where you want to go—you need a map. Break down those goals into bite-sized action steps. What can you do today to get the ball rolling? Set deadlines to keep yourself accountable. Don’t worry—we’ll be revisiting this in the next lesson. We’re in this together!
Step 6: Revisit Your Wheel Regularly
